Botanical Print on Silk Satin Scarf & Pressed Flower Framing Workshop with Annette Wiguna
Join two local Perth artists, Annette Wiguna and Joanna Hiu, for a truly special creative experience. This two-in-one workshop combines botanical printing and pressed flower framing—offering you the chance to explore both textile and floral art in one beautifully paced session.
What to Expect
The workshop is split into two parts:
First, Annette will guide you through the process of botanical printing on a silk satin scarf. Using pre-treated silk and locally foraged botanicals, you’ll learn how to place leaves with intention, apply barriers for clarity, and use rolling and bundling techniques to create detailed, nature-inspired prints.
While your silk bundle steams, you’ll transition into pressed flower framing with Joanna. Choose from a stunning collection of real, hand-pressed flowers to design and frame your own floral artwork. With gentle guidance, you’ll learn to arrange your composition and take home a frame-ready piece that reflects your unique style.
By the end of the session, you’ll leave with two keepsakes:
– A one-of-a-kind botanical printed silk scarf
– A beautifully framed pressed flower artwork
What to Bring
Enclosed, non-slip footwear
Waterproof gloves
Two old bath towels
Your own water/lunch (optional) – or enjoy a homestyle meal, drinks, or sweets from the Japanese café onsite
